I Read What I Was Not Taught: Ordeal of a Nigerian Student

The life of students in Nigeria, only hell can relate
They struggle, they had no ease with which they can relate

From lecturers' who form Bruce Lee with their questions in exams
To the hard life they have to face in hostels and other life exams

Even with this, life rarely give them an opportunity to smile
Hall weeks and free days only put on their faces a fading smile

One of the problems facing a common Nigerian Student is embedded in this
Lecturers who finish their syllabuses with words like "Go and read this, this and this"

They will come late to class and would want to finish all in few minutes
Sweats flow down students' face when they realize what they will go through in the coming minutes

I called my friend in abroad one day to asked the difference between us and them
He said "they teach us with the simplest words" meaning their lecturers make it simple for them

I responded "My school is a war front, only the rugged ones scape through the world"
A lecturer once said, "if you can survive education system in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere in the world"

Some of our lecturers come to class thirty minutes late and would start rushing to finish the lecture topics
No wonder they end up with words like "Go and read this and this", and GBAM!!! We are through with five topics

They make students read what they've not been taught in class
They only know how to show prowess in tests held in class

I laugh in Japanese, no wonder some of them never cease to be poor in heart and brain
No wonder they are never respected across the globe, even their salary is poor, it sucks my brain

The biggest respect a lecturer can receive is the respect given by students
That is for a lecturer who has some degree of respect for students'

Students need to be cautioned also when we are talking about  this part
We makes them behave inhumane, looking at it from another part

When students waste lecturers' time by making a hell of noise during lecture
The lecturer would not but make sure the class is calm, thereby shortening the time for a particular lecture

They made me read what I was not taught has been on the lips of students
Lecturers need to take note of this, have mercy and remember "You were once a student"

A father would never pray his child go through same suffering as his
So he creates the bridge for his child to cross with ease

I remain that writer that fears to talk verbally but becomes fearless with my pen
You can scold me to my face, but never will death meet what comes out of my pen

GREATEST NIGERIA STUDENTS!!!!

GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Fearless Friend
